Postion Overview
The job of the deliveryman is to deliver the company products to our clients on a daily basis. The deliveries are distributed to deliverymen by area to maximise drop rate, ultimately increasing efficiency.
You are responsible to prepare and load your products from the sorting area of the store. Once you are loading the truck/van you must check and take responsibility for the stock loaded.
Before you start the deliveries it is important that you plan your route wisely. You must learn all the clients’ locations and delivery schedules to avoid wasting time. There could be times that you will be required to collect products using a pick list from the stores and to move or load products with a fork lifter.
What is the most difficult / demanding part of this job:
Coordinating your delivery route whilst minimising product returns.
Who are we looking for?
• A clean police conduct.
• Special driving license C1.
• Experience operating fork lifters.
• Basic computer literacy
• Read and write in Maltese & English.
• Be disciplined and capable of working on own initiative as well as in a team environment.
Roles & Responsabilities
• Observing speed limits and obeying all road signs.
• Keeping driving records (i.e. truck/van report, mileage and gas receipts),
• Performing simple vehicle maintenance (i.e. weekly cleaning interior and exterior, taking vehicle for inspection to the leasing agent, etc…).
• Informing supervisor and leasing agent of any vehicle problems or damages.
• Adhering to company uniform and safety equipment policies
• Loading and unloading goods to be delivered.
• Interacting with customers to obtain payment, signatures and giving invoices.
• Paying all delivered cash sales and returning signed invoices to the accounts department.
• Picking your next day order from the stores.
• Checking and taking responsibility of the stock loaded on the truck.
• Effective us of product scanner and the WMS software.
• Heavy lifting of goods to be delivered.
Special Requirements
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting (up to 25kg unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking on a consistent basis.
